Do you have an upcoming catalog, magazine, program or booklet project? In the video below I explain the differences between the themes and templates available in our free online design tool. Watch it to learn how you can use themes and templates in your upcoming booklet project.

Watch the video to see the design tool in action!!

When you start with the design tool it will ask you to choose a size. After you choose that size, it will ask you to choose a theme. A theme is a pre-designed layout that has backgrounds, clip art and defined page layouts. Themes are available for many different categories such as "baby birthday", "travel", or "holiday". Depending on your project, starting with a theme is a good way to get a head start on your design.

A template is simply a way to lay out your pages. Let's say that you have three pictures that you want to add to a page but you aren't sure how to lay them out or arrange them on the page. You can go to the templates tab and choose between several layouts that have three pictures in them.

To sum it up, a theme will be several pre-designed pages with clip art and backgrounds for your entire booklet, while templates are individual page layouts. What themes would you like to see in the booklet online design tool? Leave your comments below.
